Announcing the 6th Northeast Sustainable Communities Workshop

April 15, 2015

The Alexander Hamilton Custom House
One Bowling Green, New York, NY 10004

Impact: Innovative Techniques for Creating Sustainable Communities

NSCW is run like no other conference you are used to attending.  There are no PowerPoint presentations and speakers limit their remarks so  there is plenty of time in each session for conversation between attendees, speakers, and moderators. We guarantee you will see many people that you do not already know which provides a great opportunity to network and form new partnerships.  Come with your ideas and questions!

Share your vision as a forward-thinking participant in this day-long interactive workshop on how to rebuild our sites, neighborhoods, cities, and regions. NSCW Impact 2015 is a day dedicated to examining the confluence of resiliency, sustainability, and brownfields redevelopment and to advance the discussion and create next generation ideas, policies and solutions.  What impact will our collective thinking have on how policy, capital, and technology are deployed toward a more resilient future?

NSCW, now in its 6th year, always attempts to break new ground, offer new ideas and posit new concepts on the topics of sustainability, collaboration and leverage, contamination, resiliency, brownfields, technology and their impact on community revitalization.  In 2015, NSCW includes Impact right in the name of this conference.  Together, let’s use the day to have an impact on the participants in this conference- on their thinking, their projects, and their vocations. Let’s take the ideas generated in this venue and have an impact on the important policy issues facing the communities in this region.

As always, those in the center of these policy decisions are invited to speak in panel format without PowerPoint so there is plenty of time for challenges and questions from all workshop participants. Everyone who attends NSCW Impact is an active participant in shaping the ideas, projects, and policies that will guide the revitalization and redevelopment of our region- CT, NY, NJ, and PA- for years to come.   The impact of the day is to have everyone leave more knowledgeable, more committed, and more inspired to influence the changes necessary in our professional and personal lives to create a more enduring and resilient life working with, and not against, nature.
