Melina Ambrosino – Cherrytree Group
Melina is a true mailroom-to-boardroom success story. After graduation from Suffolk University in 2011 she joined the Cherrytree Group as an entry-level administrative assistant, then steadily rose through the ranks. She now leads Cherrytree into its second decade. Melina has worked extensively with the many tax credit incentive programs in the Northeastern U.S., particularly in Massachusetts. As Cherrytree’s president she focuses on business development, client relations and day-to-day operations while dedicating herself to understanding fundamentals of the tax credit incentive programs so that she can expand the firm’s client base. Melina serves as the first point of contact for LSPs, developers, and real estate professionals, assisting them in determining their tax credit eligibility and helping to structure their projects accordingly. Melina is the President of Brownfields Coalition of the Northeast (BCONE), Chairs a Mentoring Committee for BCONE, and also serves on several National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) committees and event committees. Like Warren, she is a frequent presenter at industry conferences nationwide. Melina is a Boston Business Journal 2023 40 Under 40 honoree. Chosen from among nearly 300 nominations, the BBJ recognized these 40 young professionals based on their “career accomplishment, focus on success and commitment to community.”
Elizabeth Limbrick – NJEDA
Elizabeth Limbrick is the Director of Brownfields & Sustainable Systems for the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). In this role, she leads the Authority’s efforts on brownfields to create thriving and inclusive communities by addressing environmental and economic justice issues using holistic integrated approaches. Elizabeth is responsible for developing and administering the $300 MM Brownfield Redevelopment Incentive tax credit program, supporting real estate development initiatives, and leading the Authority’s efforts on Environmental Justice and Climate Resilience strategies. Elizabeth brings experience in many facets of brownfield and real estate redevelopment to her position at the NJEDA. Her public sector background includes posts at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Schools Development Agency. She has added to her expertise through conducting brownfield research at New Jersey Institute of Technology and managing a wide variety of private sector brownfield projects as an environmental consultant. Elizabeth is a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) in the state of New Jersey and is also a Licensed Professional Geologist (PG) in the state of NY. She currently serves as Co-Chair for Urban Land Institute’s Northern New Jersey (NNJ) District Council. Elizabeth is also a past Co-Chair for the New Jersey Chapter of the Society of Women Environmental Professionals and a member of BCONE.
Linda Shaw – Knauf Shaw
Linda Shaw, a Partner at Knauf Shaw, with over 33 years of experience in environmental, energy, and land use law, focuses her practice on brownfield redevelopment and associated land use, zoning, permitting and environmental review to facilitate the ultimate remediation and redevelopment of contaminated property. From 1998 to the present, Linda has been a managing partner at Knauf Shaw, LLP, becoming one of the first females in New York to be a named partner in a law firm. She is recognized as the preeminent authority in the state on the New York Brownfield Cleanup Program. She participates in a number of legislative and state policy advisory groups which led to creation of the Brownfield Cleanup Program of 2003, and the 2008, 2015, and 2022 program amendments to the Brownfield Cleanup Law. Linda handles compliance issues related to hazardous waste, chemicals and petroleum handling, and cost recovery litigation to recoup costs incurred from responsible parties. Ms. Shaw is past Chair of the NYS Bar Association Environmental Law Section, and was the VP of the Environmental Business Association, an environmental business trade organization, for many years. She is currently a Board member for the Brownfield Coalition of the North East. Ms. Shaw obtained her Juris Doctorate from the St. John’s Law School and Master of Arts, summa cum laude, in International Law and Public Administration, and Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in Political Science from St. John’s University.
