The Charlie Bartsch Brownfield Scholarship Fund

BCONE is now accepting scholarship applications!

For high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate college students interested in pursuing an education in environmental remediation and sustainability, we invite you to complete the following application to be considered in for the award of a scholarship from the Charlie Bartsch Brownfield Scholarship fund.

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must fit the criteria and become a student member of The Brownfield Coalition of the Northeast. Students can apply for free membership here. In addition, students must be:

  • A high school senior or an undergraduate or graduate college student living in one of the BCONE member states.
  • Pursuing a degree with an accredited environmental science program or related field.
  • Grade Point average must be a minimum of 3.0.

We invite you to complete an application to be considered for the award of a scholarship from the Charlie Bartsch Brownfield Scholarship fund. Scholarship amounts range from $3,000 to $5,000.

About the Scholarship Fund

BCONE and all brownfield professionals worldwide miss Charlie Bartsch, the nation's passionate voice promoting the importance of brownfields remediation and redevelopment. He was the leading guru on how to assemble a variety of state and federal incentives to enhance projects of interest to the community. He was also one of the nicest people to come into our lives. In May of 2018, BCONE established a scholarship fund in Charlie’s honor.
