This newly revised course will present the new directions brownfield redevelopment projects will be taking in 2019 and beyond. The morning session will focus on providing a regulatory update on issues affecting redevelopment projects, an update on the LSRP program, an update on emerging contaminants (e.g., PFAS), and the impact proposed changes will have on brownfields projects. Funding incentives will be discussed, to include the Real Estate Impact Fund and HDSRF, as well as changes via SRRA 2.0. Technical updates will focus on alternative remediation standards and how the new cleanup standards will impact ongoing and emerging projects.
The afternoon session will talk about how to integrate remediation into the development design process through a Remediation Roundtable format. Using a "Lightning Round" approach, speakers and participants will explore the challenges of redeveloping brownfields in a thriving economy from both a municipal and private perspective.
You will hear from a variety of stakeholders and gain an understanding of their perspectives in the multi-faceted redevelopment process.
